Celtic's xG of 2.58 was better than their previous 3 visits to Pittodrie over the last couple of seasons however Aberdeen's xG of 1.59 was higher than any time they faced Celtic under Ange with the previous highest being 0.89 in November 2021. Only 4 times last season did Celtic concede more than 1.59 xG.


Aberdeen had the better chances in the 2nd quarter of the match and went into the half time break up on xG at 1.44 v 1.32.


Celtic had 529 passes which was lower than the previous 7 meetings versus Aberdeen and Celtic only had 163 passes in the final third. Well down on the 487 final third passes in December.

There were no changes to the starting line up from last week against Ross County. However there were 3 changes to the bench with Welsh, Haksabanovic and Bernabei all coming in Starfelt, Kwon and Oh. They joined Bain, Hatate, Yang, Forrest, Iwata and Holm as subs with Welsh, Hatate, Yang, Forrest and Holm getting some game time in the second half. Four of the same five subs last week with Welsh for Starfelt the only difference.

Best performers for Non Penalty xG were Abada 1.03, Maeda 0.78, O'Riley 0.54 and Kyogo 0.41. Best for xA were Ralston 0.57, Taylor 0.38, O'Riley 0.36, Turnbull 0.23 and Yang 0.20. Top goal contributor combined was Abada on 1.08.
