Celtic v Ferencvaros (Wed Aug 26th 2020)

Champions League Qualifier

Celtic 1 (Christie 53)

Ferencvaros 2 (Siger 7, Nguen 75)

Ferencvaros took the lead in 7 minutes when Siger scores from 25 yards with Taylor, Brown and Ajer too slow to close him down and Barkas not closing the angle by being to close to his goal line.

Celtic equalised in the 53rd minute with some build up play outside the box and then an Elyounoussi pass to Christie who scored with a deflected shot from 25 yards.

In 75 minutes Ferencvaros clinched the tie when a punt up the park from defence caught Celtic out with only Elhamed and Jullien in Celtic's half. Nguen went past Elhamed and slotted the ball between Barkas's legs.

Like the first European game Elhamed came into the team for Frimpong and Ajer came back into the team for Bitton. Edouard was unavailable and was replaced by Forrest with Christie moving to his 3rd position in 3 games (wide right the last game and number 10 position the game before). However this time he was up front by himself.

- Barkas

- Elhamed, Jullien, Ajer and Taylor

- Brown and McGregor

- Forrest, Ntcham and Elyounoussi

- Christie

Ajeti came on for his 3 game in a row and Frimpong also came on.

Fans view - we need to complain to UEFA for changing the qualification matches format to one leg games only. Oh wait a minute we were at home!!

The fans found Neil Lennon's decision to play without a recognised striker despite having 2 on the bench as perfectly acceptable. :)
