Benzema is top player in the league for xG per 90 on 1.1. Vinicius has 0.77, then it is Rodrygo on 0.41, Valverde on 0.15, Alaba on 0.15, Rudiger on 0.14, Modric on 0.1, Vazquez on 0.09, Tchouameni on 0.07, Camavinga on 0.06, Kroos on 0.05 and Militao on 0.02.

For xA per 90 it is Rodrygo on 0.7 (1st in the league), Modric on 0.31, Kroos 0.29, Vinicuis on 0.24, Benzema on 0.16, Valverde on 0.16, Alaba on 0.15, Carvajal 0.11, Tchouameni on 0.10, Camavinga on 0.08, Vazquez on 0.06, Mendy on 0.04, Rudiger on 0.04 and Militao on 0.01.

Real Madrid were away from home in the first 3 league games and at home in the most recent game and they won each game, winning 2-1, 4-1, 3-1 and 2-1.

They won the league by 13 points last season and they are ranked number 3 in the ELO ratings (behind Man City & Liverpool).

I think there is a chance Celtic may play a 4-2-3-1 in Europe and the signing of Abildgaard gives a strong indication of that. A midfield double pivot of Abildgaard and McGregor with Hatate in front of them is what I see as a possibility.

This game is too soon for Abildgaard maybe Mooy will come in or maybe Ange will go with the trusted and tested and keep O’Riley in what would be a very open team against Real Madrid.

I’m not ruling out Celtic getting a result in this game however if I was forced for a prediction I would have to say either 3-1 or 4-2 to Real Madrid.
