Match probabilities are Celtic 36%, Real Betis 38% and draw 26%.
Celtic's team for tonight is;
- Bain 5%
- Urhoghide 0%, Bitton 35%, Welsh 41% and Scales 1.8%
- Soro 15%
- McCarthy 16% and Shaw 0%
- Abada 66%, Ajeti 22% and Montgomery 28%
Celtic's average is 21% for minutes played for tonight's team. (*For Europa League Group Matches and SPFL matches). 7 players with less than 25% of minutes played.
When thinking about possible selections earlier there are no surprises for me. Urhoghide is not a total surprise given one of our right backs (Ralston) is injured at the moment so we need Urhoghide some game time in case Juranovic gets injured.
My main thoughts were that Kyogo wouldn't be playing and that McCarthy would be.
I'm guessing that McCarthy will further forward in the No.8 role as any time both himself and Soro have been on the park Soro has played in the No.6 role.
I would have liked to see Dane Murray get a start but it will be good to see how Urhoghide, Scales and Shaw do as well as Soro, McCarthy and the rest.
Betis line up with only 4 players from the most played 17 players this season although the average is still at 37% of minutes played for tonight's team.
Goalkeeper Rui Silva 51% of the total minutes of Real Betis's 22 games and 20 Diego Lainez has only played 8% of the total minutes.
9 players have 25% or more minutes played.
Iglesias is averaging 0.79 xG & xA combined per 90 minutes this season and that is the highest of any Betis player. His 0.58 for xG is the highest and his 0.21 xA is the second highest.
Tello is averaging 0.43 and 0.23 for xG and xA respectively per 90. Joaquin is on 0.13 and 0.23 and Lainez is on 0.14 and 0.
Iglesias has a 17% success rate for pressing and compared to Celtic players in the Europa League that is well behind all Celtic players. Kyogo is on 30%.
The 3 attacking midfielders are on 20% or just over so will Bitton have freedom from the back to make a big influence on the game?
